Schools Out! – Summer Break up Heralds Eventful Warwickshire Weekend

Everything Warwickshire

The school break up sees a flurry of activity in Warwickshire this weekend, where there’s so much going on that you’ll be spoilt for choice!

The eagerly anticipated Warwick Folk festival takes place from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th July and will see bands and solo artists including Show of Hands and The Unthanks taking to the streets, pubs, bars and schools of Warwick for what promises to be another fantastic weekend of music. Whilst you’re visiting, don’t forget to pop along to Warwick’s hidden shopping gem Smith Street, which is packed with wonderful and unusual independent shops and is itself having its own Mini Festival in the form of a street party. Full details and lineups are at http://www.warwickfolkfestival.co.uk

Another weekend highlight is the Knights Tournament at Kenilworth Castle which takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July with medieval reenactments of bloody battles and a living history encampment in the castle grounds  – full details are available at http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/whats-on/knights-tournament-Keni-23-07-2016/

For lovers of antiques there’s an antique, vintage and collectors fair on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, whilst the wonderful Compton Verney’s ‘Britain in the 50’s’ exhibition continues this weekend right until October 2nd.

Another great outdoor favourite which is well worth a visit is Stratford upon Avon’s River Festival where there’s plenty of activity going on each weekend alongside the River Avon until September 3rd http://www.stratforward.co.uk/events/stratford-river-festival/

These are just a few of the many lively activities taking place in Warwickshire this weekend – for more inspiration be sure to visit our Events page at http://exclusivelyuk.co.uk/warwickshire-events/ or better still, why not bookmark it so you’ll always have a list of great ideas at your fingertips?!
